Multilayer air coil

The program allows you to calculate the inductance L' of a multilayer air coil. The principle for calculating inductance was taken from the book "Construction and Assembly of Amateur Radio Systems" by Zbigniew Faust.

Practical notes:

  1. Multilayer air coils, mass-wound turn by turn, are used for inductances of several tens of mH (basket winding using a special winder is also used).

  2. The coupling coefficient k between adjacent coil sections depends on the dimensions of the sections and their mutual distance. In practical systems, the most common relationship is b = 2l. In such a case, the coupling coefficient k is in the range <0.25, 0.4>.
